Important information
1. Swimming and sauna bathing are incompatible with alcohol.
2. Don't go into the open water alone. Take a friend with you, as they can help if something happens.
3. Wait a moment before going from the sauna to the open water and vice versa. Too rapid temperature changes can cause blood pressure fluctuations and dizziness and strain the heart.
4. Wearing shoes, slippers or wool socks makes open water swimming more pleasant and prevents slipping. We also recommend using a beanie or sauna hat.
5. Walk calmly and carefully, as the paths can be slippery. Slippery surfaces can cause dangerous situations, so be especially careful on stairs and walkways.
6. Do not jump into the open water. We do not recommend soaking your head in cold water, as a lot of heat evaporates through the head.
7. The first few times you should only soak. As your body adapts to the cold, you can gradually increase the time you spend in the open water.
8. Cold water stiffens your muscles, so do not swim too far. Monitor your muscle function and make sure you do not swim too far.
9. Dress warmly after swimming in the open water and sauna and, if necessary, enjoy a warm drink.
10. Tell us immediately if you notice any shortcomings in the safety of the open water or sauna.
11. If necessary, call for help. The general emergency number is 112. The sauna is located at Pilssitie 23, 23500 Uusikaupunki. Follow the instructions of the emergency services.
By following these guidelines, you will ensure a safe and enjoyable open water swimming experience. Take care of yourself and your friends while open water swimming!
Remember to enter the sauna slowly and keep the door open only for the necessary time so that the heat of the sauna and the freshly poured steam do not escape. Do not block the doorway – others also want to enjoy the steam.
There is room for everyone in the sauna. Find a comfortable place to sit and respect the personal space of others. If necessary, close the space and give newcomers space to sit. Be mindful of other sauna users and ask permission before throwing more water on the stones. It is a good practice to take turns in throwing water so that everyone has a pleasant sauna experience. The Höyry is a mixed sauna, so please wear swimwear.
The sauna usually has a calm and quiet atmosphere. Everyone should be mindful of other sauna users and respect the peace and quiet of the sauna. Arguments and work matters are left outside the sauna, as the sauna is a place for relaxation and calm. Let the warm sauna bath wash away all your everyday worries, take a moment to quiet down and enjoy the sauna atmosphere.
When taking a sauna, it is good to cool down your body in a body of water or by enjoying the fresh air. Remember to stay hydrated and drink your drinks outside the sauna room. After taking a sauna and open water swimming, it is important to dress warmly so that your body stays warm and comfortable.
Following these easy-to-follow instructions will ensure that everyone has a pleasant and relaxing sauna experience. Welcome to enjoy the wonderful spirit of sauna and refreshing dip!
